Bayham

The beautiful sandy beaches of Port Burwell are a major attraction for the Municipality of Bayham. The shallow waters of Lake Erie provide wonderful swimming conditions. Bayham also has wonderful scenery, birdwatching, fishing and boating.

Central Manitoulin


The Township of Central Manitoulin is located in the central portion of Manitoulin Island, bounded by Lake Huron to the west and Lake Manitou to the east. It is an amalgamation of the townships of Carnarvon, Sandfield and Campbell.

The area offers a diversity of attractions and unique landmarks. The main industries were originally farming, forestry and a woolen mill, which over the years have evolved to include tourism as one of the main economic drivers, along with some dairy and beef farming and some light manufacturing. There are two hockey arenas, two curling rinks, three ball fields, an agricultural fairground, tennis courts, hiking trails, bicycling outfitters, fishing guide businesses, and snow machine trails to provide sporting activities year round. Motels and bed and breakfasts, as well as numerous camp grounds provide hospitable accommodations for visitors.

Southwest Middlesex




Southwest Middlesex is a neighbourly community of 6,200 residents. It is located in the southwest corner of Middlesex County and sits approximately half way between London and Chatham. The Thames River meanders from east to west along the southern limit of the Municipality. Areas along the Thames River provide an attractive natural setting of varied terrain, woodlands and scenic vistas.



The Municipality has a unique mix of urban and rural planning areas and supports a large agricultural base along with manufacturing, institutional, and retail business activity. The two major urban centres in the Municipality are the communities of Glencoe and Wardsville.

Medical, dental, chiropractic, optometrist and pharmaceutical facilities are located within Southwest Middlesex. It is home to pre-school daycare, three elementary schools (two public and one separate) and one secondary school. It has an extensive selection of churches in the various denominations and service clubs are highly prevalent within the community. Some of those groups include Lions, Lioness, Royal Canadian Legion, Rotary, Oddfellows, Masonic Lodge, Star of the East, Elks Lodge and 4-H.
